Men's Premier Handball League: Wolves versus Olympia could put pressure on top two
With league action resuming this weekend after three weeks away, the two matches in the men’s Premier Handball League could see league positions changing.
Third plays fourth when Olympia take on Warrington Wolves. The teams are one point apart, with Olympia just three points behind league leaders London GD. With the two teams on near-identical goal difference, Wolves having a game in hand over Olympia could prove critical.
It could be a competitive match because the last time these two teams met in the league, in the autumn, it was a one-goal victory to Wolves. Can they repeat that win?
Throw-off is at 12.30 at Birchwood Leisure Centre on Sunday.
The only other men’s Premier Handball League game of the weekend sees Nottingham travel south to play West London Eagles.
Eagles, in fifth, are just one point ahead of the East Midlanders, in sixth, but Eagles also have a game in hand over their opponents. It was a 27-27 draw when the teams previously played each other. In the last round of fixtures, Eagles went down to Brighton Seahawks by three goals and Nottingham fell to London GD by one goal.
Throw-off is at 15.00 at Barking Sporthouse on Saturday.
